What is the real range of the Area IV collar?+
In 4G mode, range is unlimited: as long as the collar has cellular coverage (Orange, SFR, Bouygues, Free in France, and roaming in EU), you track your dog from the RoG app anywhere. The built-in VHF adds up to 15 km line-of-sight in dead zones (deep forest, valleys).
How does the runaway alert and virtual fence work?+
You define one or more allowed zones from the app (garden, property, hunting grounds). The moment your dog crosses a boundary, you receive an instant push notification with real-time GPS position. Combined with the collar's vibration/sound recall, it's the most reliable runaway prevention on the market.
How much is the 4G subscription after the first year?+
The first year of data is included in the pre-order price (€165). From year two, the RoG Data subscription is €4.90/month (€58.80/year), no commitment — one of the most competitive rates in the dog GPS market.
Is it really IP67 waterproof?+
Yes — IP67 certified: submersion up to 1 m for 30 minutes. Your dog can swim, cross rivers, roll in mud — the collar keeps working. Tested and validated on scent hounds, dachshunds, springers, jagd terriers.
