The name "4G + VHF" refers to dual communication redundancy. In 4G area: real-time tracking via the application (normal mode). In area without 4G coverage (isolated mountain, deep forest, basement): the tracker automatically switches to LBS mode (cellular triangulation) then records the last known position with timestamp. As soon as it finds signal again, it pushes all pending positions to the application. You lose nothing. For the rare cases of total network loss, the audible and luminous locator that can be triggered remotely (range up to 300 m) allows you to find the dog by ear and sight.
