How do I know if my VHF antenna is faulty?

If the range of your TR DOG GPS base unit has decreased noticeably (frequent signal loss, reduced distance), the antenna is often the cause. First check the SMA connector (no play or oxidation), then test with a new antenna.

Are the antennas compatible with all TR DOG models?

Yes, all antennas in our catalogue use the standard SMA connector compatible with the entire TR DOG range (TR DOG 4G, TR DOG VHF, multifunction base units).

Does a long-range antenna really improve reception?

Yes, significantly. In open terrain, a long-range antenna can reach 15 km line of sight. In dense forest or hilly terrain, the gain is 30 to 50% compared to the original short antenna.
